Subjects: Humanities, Physics, Math
Chet’s Subject: Humanities
Grades: 9th
Community Partners: Mission Trails Regional Park, Anza Borrego State Park, Orange County Ropes Course, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
Essential Question: How is art used to share people’s journeys? How can we use art to tell about our own journeys?

Project Description: This semester, students had the opportunity to go on multiple journeys, and then record their expeirences through art. Students researched different artists, how they told their stories, and created examples of work based on the professionals.  Students went on four different journeys of their own: hiking at mission trails, completing an obstacle course in Orange County, spending a night camping at Anza Borrego State Park, and then spending three nights camping at Cuymaca Rancho State Park.  Students expressed their research, findings, and experience through different mediums of art including murals, maps, statues, and documentaries.
